Coming Home

We were so excited to take Little Man home and so beyond nervous at the same time. We bundled him up and then covered the entire car seat with a thick blanket as we brought him home on the coldest day of the year. Little Man was so tiny in his car seat and was an angel the whole way home. I think that is the slowest that I have ever seen Daddy drive:). When we got home we introduced him to Chloe who was a little excited to meet the newest member of our family and a lot excited to see Mommy and Daddy home. That night Papa cooked a delicious welcome home dinner and everyone came over to see Little Man. We had a fantastic time but by the end of the night Mommy was exhausted and Little Man's day was just beginning......Uh Oh!!!!!

Welcome to the World Little Man

After 41 weeks and 2 days of pregnancy and 32 hours and 1 minute of labor little man was born. It was a little bit of a rough entry for him (he came out sunny side up) and a real scary entrance for Mommy and Daddy (the docs immediately took him away to help him out) but in the end all was ok and we eventually got to hold our little miracle. John Gordon Ellis V was born at 12:01 pm on January 14th 2009. He weighed 8lbs 15oz and was 21 inches of pure yummy:). John and I were exhausted but ecstatic. He was then, and still is today, the most amazing little boy to us. He brings us more smiles and giggles than we could have ever imagined and we feel ridiculously blessed to be his parents.

Labor Day Begins!!

I woke up early in the morning on January 13th with contractions. Ummm...that's right. FINALLY!!! Eight days overdue, scheduled to go to the hospital that night to begin the induction, and I woke up with contractions. Little Man has a serious sense of humor already. Contracted all day but with no regularity so we went to the hospital that night as scheduled. I was SO nervous, SO excited, and SO ready to meet our little guy. I was planning on a restful night before they started the pitocin early the next morning but Little Man had different plans (I totally should have know that:). Suffice it to say that it was NOT a restful night UNTIL I got the epi. THEN I was good to go:)!! All I knew was that we were getting very close to the moment when we would finally meet the little man that we had been waiting for.

January 5th 2009 (D-Day)

Today was the day that Little Man was due but alas, he had other plans. These plans involved staying put in Mommy's tummy (at least for a few more days:).
